What customers say?

“ Ok the food was amazing I only gave a 4 star because the drinks were super sweet and it felt like they had no alcohol. I would definitely return for an amazing meal and honestly the ambiance of the entire place is chic and welcoming. Very cute maybe just work on the drinks from the bartender. Service was excellent and prompt I will definitely be back to try a few more options on the menu. The chili relleno was bold and definitely the best I've had in a very long time. My friend has a birria bacon burger and honestly I couldn't imagine putting that in a burger at first but it was fire! Everything was so good a must try! ”

“ We got the chilaquiles with chorizo and chicken, they were the best I’ve had compared to other brunch spots around the area. We also tried the matcha with vanilla cold foam and it was very tasty! Service is excellent. Definitely recommend! ”

“ Came here for brunch as a party of 6 on a Sunday morning. Our food and drinks came out pretty quickly. Overall everyone liked their food. Huevos rancheros is way too saucy but otherwise it’s very good. The veggie omelet seemed bland however everything is healthy, light and fresh. ”

“ I love this place! The food and coffee are never a miss! It does get busy but we tend to eat at the bar so we get seated right away. Highly recommend! ”

“ I've been wanting to come out here after seeing an article written on the place. Came in for brunch, and it did not disappoint. We ordered the Chorizo Hash and Chilaquiles with drinks. The food was very tasty, and the drinks were also a plus. We were kinda expecting smaller portions but turned out to be very generous portions that make you walk out feeling full. Another add-on to this establishment is that they have a bakery with freshly baked goods. We ended up getting a box of 4 pastries all decently priced. ”

“ Went today for late breakfast and had the chilaquiles rojos with carnitas and the tres leches French toast. Both tasted amazing and were beautifully plated. We also tried the dulce de Leche latte and the mazapan latte, which were delicious. The atmosphere is cute and cozy and our server was very attentive. ”

“ We had an awesome experience at El Bistro in Modesto! From the moment we walked in, the place had a warm and welcoming vibe. The staff was super friendly and made us feel right at home. We ordered the chilaquiles, Nutella French toast, Café Mazapan, and the Dulce de Leche latte. Honestly, everything we had was delicious! The chilaquiles were full of flavor. The tortilla chips were perfectly crispy but still soaked up the tasty sauce just right. They had just the right amount of spice, and the eggs on top were cooked perfectly. The Nutella French toast was a dream—sweet, rich, and so satisfying. It was the kind of dish that you think about long after you’ve finished eating it. As for the drinks, both were amazing in their own way. The Café Mazapan had a sweet, nutty flavor that was different from anything we’ve ever tasted. It was smooth and comforting, especially with breakfast. The Dulce de Leche latte was creamy, sweet, and felt like a dessert in a cup. It wasn’t too strong, which was perfect for a morning treat. The service was fast, and everything came out hot and fresh. The vibe of the restaurant was relaxed but still had a modern feel. We really enjoyed everything about our visit—from the food to the atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu. If you’re in Modesto and love good food and coffee, you have to check out El Bistro! ”
